Default Circle C or Meridian

Thinking of moving to one of these areas. Any thoughts on Meridian. Does anyone live in Circle C and not like it? What are your neighbors like? Demographics? Are schools good? How far is the commute to downtown, Congress and 4th morning and evening commutes? Is it better than North Austin, Scofield, Milwood? Thanks.

i grew up in Circle C and I loved it. great family neighborhood. Kiker elementary is a good school. I don't know about Bailly Middle and Bowie High because I switched to private schools after Kiker. Neighbors are nice, with the expected odd not-so-nice ones. I'd have to say it's mostly white middle to upper middle class, but there is some ethnic diversity. Congress-about 20 min. Downtown - I guess a bit longer (MoPac or Loop 1) is close by. Evening commutes not bad, but morning is. I like it better than North, I think its safer (there's nothing but country south of it). they built a strip mall, so grocery shopping as well as cafes, fitness, etc are right at your doorstep.

I like the Circle C area a lot. I don't live there but I have a lot of friends who do, and I also work there. The location is pretty convenient with grocery stores and services close by in the local community. The schools are probably some of the best in Austin (Bowie High School). It's a family oriented neighborhood and very kid friendly. The entire community really comes together to support one another. They even have a local newspaper (Oak Hill Gazette) that only covers the area.

Circle C and Meridian are really close. We stopped at Meridian model homes for a bit to look. The builders are nice enough but we opted not to go back because the lot sizes felt really small.

I am just moving out of Circle C after the best 7 years of my life as we are relocating for my DH and his "dream job". I have never experienced such a sense of community as I have here. There are definitely HOA squabbles and heated arguments that annoy me but in the end I appreciate that people just really care and want their opinion heard. I live on a street that has family get togethers at least 2x per month (8-10 families) and we have a bajillion kids on our street. Instant playdates most times of the day. We will miss it so much. My kids went to Kiker and the Child Development Center in CC and they were fabulous. I don't know much about Meridian other than it is new and it will likely take a while to build a sense of community. Our property value steadily appreciated in CC and we sold our house in one day. Much of that is due to its long-standing reputation as a great family neighborhood.

This was my same response. Is it the lot sizes are to small or the homes are so big?

I originally posted this. I now live in Meridian and it is wonderful. The lot sizes range from 55' to 100' and will eventually have 1 acre lots as well. The lot sizes are fine. I love it here.

I also looked at Meridian. We ended up buying in New Villages in Western Oaks, off Davis, but I have to say Meridian is awesome. We considered it. Looking back I'm glad we moved where we did, we love it but I think we would've liked Meridian too. For us it boiled down to the commute.
