Default So if you WERE going to convince someone to move to Austin...

What would be your top reasons to justify the move?

Torontonian is on a distinguished road
1. Plenty of job opportunities, employers (hi-tech)
2. No state income tax
3. Affordable large houses on decent size lots
4. Affordable higher education for residents (state Universities, Colleges)
5. Excellent elementary schools (at least I'm happy with the one my kids attend)
6. Get new experience. "Life is not about destination rather about journey"
7. If you tired of multiculturalism
8. Cheap gas

Up here in Leander we pay about $2.76 and have been for about a month. South Austin I have seen it for $2.96 last weekend.

Ok...I paid $2.87 last night for gas. I was going to be angry if George W. Bush's home state was much cheaper in gas prices!

We are shortly moving to Austin from the UK. Gas prices currently $7/gallon. Gonna get ourselves a big ol' truck! Only joking!

Small town feel where you can run into people you know. New people you meet know the people that you know etc.

Big enough to have some amenities

Good night life - this one is easy to take for granted. In most comparably sized cities there is no where near the night life. In cities larger than Austin, everything is spread far apart or extremely pretentious.
