Default Inexpensive sushi restaurant in Austin?

Coming from the Pacific NW and previously New York, we have a choice of sushi restaurants. I don't know if any of you have ever eaten fast food sushi from a "sushi train". They are these plates on a conveyor belt, color coded. Ie. green plate $1, orange plate $2 and blue plate $3. Each plate has 2 peices of sushi never sliced too thin. If the sushi you want is not seen, it is most likely more expensive and you can get it from the sushi chef. At the end of the meal, they count your plates multiply by the color, etc. Hubby and I would normally leave stuffed and a $25 bill.

Is there one like this type in Austin? If not, if you know of an inexpensive sushi restaurant (hopefully near downtown of SW area), please, please, please let me know and I will surely check it out.

As far as quality and price go, I really like the sushi from Peony on Balcones Dr. (near 2222 & MoPac).

Like many of the sushi restaurants in town, they get their weekly "catch" on Thursdays, so it is best to try to plan your visit as close to then as possible.

They also have a wonderful non-sushi menu for friends and family who have not yet seen the light.

Maru on Burnet and West 47th is good and inexpensive. It's BYOB and they close between lunch and dinner.

Kyoto on congress is AMAZING. Their 600 happy hour everything is half price. Aside from happy hour my wife and I usually get out of there for around 35$

Unfortunately there is no conveyor belt sushi in austin. However if you go to austinsushi.com you can find ratings of sushi places in austin.
