The arbitrary figure of $15,000 is totally antiquated in today's market. Does anybody know when that figure was set or who decides when it may be time to adjust it?

Nope, I have no clue, but I would think a lot more highly of our tax system if it were more like 50k or something...maybe a little larger. That would greatly lower the tax load on lower income residents without letting the big, expensive home owners off the hook - someone has to pay the taxes .

Nope... TXTag is the sticker you place on your car's (inside) windshield so you can travel the toll roads without having to stop at the 'PAY CASH' collection points.

You can find more info (and signup online, if you've a mind to) here: TxTag.Org::A TxTag account gives you easy access to toll roads throughout Texas[/url]
