For those considering relocating near-but-not-in Austin, there are several NW Austin suburaban areas worthy of consideration (city web sites & respective school district web sites listed):
-- Cedar Park: City of Cedar Park - Home & Leander ISD: Leander Independent School District
-- Leander: Welcome to the City of Leander, Texas & Leander ISD: Leander Independent School District (yeppers, Ceder Park & Leander share the same school district)
-- Round Rock: City of Round Rock - Home & Round Rock ISD: Welcome to Round Rock Independent School District
-- Pflugerville: Pflugerville Texas Official Website & Pflugerville ISD: Pflugerville Independent School District :: Home
-- Georgetown: City of Georgetown, Texas & Georgetown ISD: Georgetown Independent School District :: Georgetown, Texas
TX Griff
PS: For those from "away" , ISD = Independent School District

Other good websites for those considering the Oak Hill or Southwest Austin area area:
Oak Hill Gazette - Oak Hill Gazette: The community newspaper for Southwest Austin
and Oak Hill Association of Neighboorhoods - Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods (OHAN).
For people who want to know about current community events and overall information on the Oak Hill area the Gazette is a really good resource. the OHAN website will help with neighborhood information.

I found AustinHomeserch.com to be very helpful in leasing a home.

The Austin Relocation Guide is a good book, however you will receive over 50 emails and tons of phone calls of real estate agents, builders, finance people, and insurance agents trying to get your business. The emails don't stop, either! Beware!
