best high school is westwood. Most of what feeds into westwood are actually austin neighborhoods and they tend to be older. The newest ones I think are on yaupon (dominion at great hills) and just north there are about 15 houses that are brand new that were built maybe 2 years ago.

What is your definition of "best"?

What is your definition of "family friendly"?

What is your definition of "upscale"?

We don't know your background, your $$ situation or even where you're from.

And ol' 97 is correct.....are you looking for a HS in RR city limits, or RRISD (two completely different things)?

When I went to Westwood High School, my peers and I nicknamed the place "Stresswood" because that's exactly how the teachers and parents there make the students feel!

My next door neighbor transferred her child to Westwood HS from Round Rock HS. Well, he's miserable at Westwood. It's a great academic school but they are pushing him so hard that he now wants to transfer back to Round Rock HS. So you need to look at what your child wants to get out of their high school experience to help you make the decision.
