There are lots of places you would be comfortable, but don't move here without a job. There are not a lot of options that I am aware of for short term housing other then Extended Stay and a few motels around that give reduced rates for longer stays. Such as Hill Country Austin Heart of Texas Motel near Circle C

What is "the economy of collections"?

The economy is not as good as some would have you believe. If you come here, you either need to have a job lined up or substantial savings. People often move here thinking they'll be able to pick up a job within a few months and are dismayed when it takes much longer than that.

Thanks for the info..... by "economy of collections" im trying to ask... what about collection jobs or in the morgage field period. I have a very thourough background of back end mortgage...i.e. collections, loss mitigation, modifications, customer care, loan processing, and even some origination. Like others have said- get a job before you move out. I too have an extensive amount of experience in my field and tried to find a job in austin about a year ago. Needless to say it is NOT easy and there were surprisingly few jobs. Get the job first.
