Is it true that houses that will be on the market in spring will be higher prices? Is the housing price better right now since sellers reducing the prices due to long period on the market? Though I read that Spring time is a good time to buy because there will be more houses on the market = more competition = more negotiable.

Which is more true?

Why are you asking this question again? You already asked it!

What kind of an answer are you expecting to your question? If the poster wants to ask again, why does it bother you so?

Because it's like bumping. And the moderators hate the posts to be bumped. It doesn't make sense why they would post the same exact post. Your response is kind of silly.

Here is thing...we ask our agent if we should wait until spring when there will be more houses on the market = more choices for us. She told us that the housing price in spring time is higher thus it's better time for us to buy now since the houses that are currently on the market offer lower prices (more reductions) due to the fact that they have been on the market for awhile.

Though from what I read that there will be more on the houses on the market in spring time = more competition for sellers = more negotiable for buyers.

So my first questions was if there will be MORE HOUSES on the market in spring (wanted to confirm w/ the experts in here about that). Now my other question is "in general, will the HOUSING PRICE BE HIGHER during spring season?"

I'm so confused right now and would really appreciate for some opinion from the experts. Thanks.

Well, your response to her/him was kind of mean spirited. The question you were asking about actually had more information than the first so it wasn't really a bump.

our realtor told hubby that houses will be more expensive in spring -just wanted to get some more info from the experts in here.

Jennibc, maybe llkltk had a bad day I had a very long day yesterday due to my cranky baby, went on here to read the replies- saw some less friendly replies and to no help, thus decided to ignore them...wished she had ignored mine.

I'm no expert, but consider that your agent makes his or her commission as soon as you purchase so there is incentive for her/him, even if it is subconscious, for you to purchase now. There are more houses on the market in the spring so if you are not finding what you are looking for now, wait until you find it. Don't allow yourself to settle for something because you might save a couple thousand dollars. Even then, I am not sure I buy your agents argument that houses are going to priced less now. As more houses go on the market, supply increases and typically excess supply drives down prices.

That is exactly what i'm thinking! I don't know much but from what i read and got some good info from here, it's a buyers' market right now. So far we haven't seen anything that fits to all of our priority needs, i thought of waiting until spring so we have more choices and (as you said) better prices maybe.

One thing to keep in mind is that while there will be more houses on the market, there will also be more buyers. The same reasons that sellers wait till spring are the same reasons many buyers do. So yes, you may be more likely to find the house you like but you may be in competition for that house in the Spring.
