Just reading up on Mang Dedoy's, apparently a Filipino restaurant and more. Reviews mention that they always have the Filipino channel on TV and that it's somewhat of a gathering spot for Filipino expats. Maybe it would be a way to connect with the community.

My sister-in-law is Filipino, so naturally my niece and nephew are half, and then it goes on down the line with my great nieces. When my sister-in-law comes to Austin, she makes lumpia and pancit for everyone. I've tried a few times, but mine never tastes as good as what she makes.

Start a meetup.com group for Filipinos. Those things are easy, fun and can really be a hit. Talk about the meetups on the links that CptnRn posted to get some attention. Good luck!
