Looks like it will take a while to implement. Might have significant Texas impact, certainly from a scale standpoint.I just came back from the Round Rock Sprouts...place was hoppin'!(They were out of the 'sale' frozen veggies...DANG)...got my free chocolate bar and some organic doggie treats...Life is Good!

Sun Harvest was already owned by Henry's, I thought.

I'm a fan of both Sprouts and Sun Harvest. I hope they keep most of the stores, rather than consolidating...

It does look like they were together already. This is from the email I received:

I am pleased to deliver some very exciting news: Sprouts Farmers Market and Henry's Farmers Market/Sun Harvest Farmers Market have announced plans to merge, under the majority ownership and sponsorship of Apollo Management, L.P., one of the world's leading private equity firms.

The combined company, which will eventually operate under the single name Sprouts Farmers Market, will have 98 stores and more than 7,000 employees at the time the transaction closes, which is expected to be early in the second quarter of 2011. We plan to open up to 10 additional new stores later in the year.

I just hope they keep the Sprouts store near me on Broadie Lane open. Not big a super market and close to home - a perfect fit.

Much prefer Sun Harvest to Sprouts, though I shop at both.

Sprouts seems to have cheaper produce than Sun Harvest. Hope they keep them open.

Happy to hear it! Maybe Sprouts will teach Sun Harvest how to clean their stores! Sun Harvests have to be filthiest stores I've ever been in- the bodegas in NYC are cleaner.

This is my experience. I hate to shop & I hate HEB megastores.

The Sprouts location at Great Hills is small & I can run in & get the half dozen sale items (cheese, meats, fish, homemade cookies, vegies etc......all good quality & crazy cheap if you get the stuff on sale....), a loaf of bread & some milk & be out of there in 5 min.

Plus it's clean, the workers are almost overly nice & i get to invent a new "make my own' trail mix everytime i go in there.
