A school boundry change for school year 2008, or 2009 - check the RRISD website for specifics.

we will be retired, so no children. Will that effect property tax though?

I'm not sure.

I guess the only other "negative" would be that it's on the east side of 35. Personally, I don't see it as a negative, many on this forum do though. I like the area - find it convenient, and like the wide open spaces. I live down the road in Forest Creek.

I guess I would also check that it's actually IN the city of Round Rock, and not in a Hutto or Round Rock ETJ. I would not buy into an ETJ.

What is ETJ?.

My in-laws live in Forest bluff neighborhood and we liked the large lots. Forest ridge is close to that neighborhood I think. Anyways we are going to check it out 1st September.

Doesn't that have to do with the water? Our water is expensive, and that's our only complaint.

No, it doesn't have to do with the water - that's a PUD/MUD thing.

ETJ is like what other states may call an "unincorporated" area of a county. You aren't within the "city limits" and your amenities and services are limited because of it. Police/Ambulence etc are serviced by a county, vs the city. You may have associated fees attached to your utilities because of it. Library cards, and city run facilities that may be free to residents within the city limits, may charge unincorporated residents a fee, etc.
