We're trying to move back to Austin after being on the East coast for 2 years. We used to live south, but my husband's new job is around Braker/Mopac and we aren't familiar with the area. Are there good elementary schools, preferably with a pre-K program? I have an almost-3-year-old. Thanks!

I don't think that any central texas district has a universal pre-k program, they are only available under certain circumstances (low-income, esl, armed services, special needs, etc). You'll need to look for daycare or preschool for a three year old.

i see. i didn't know that about the pre-k only being offered in special circumstances.

how are the public elementaries up in that area? we're hoping not to have to move again once we get settled, so we'll want to live near a good school but also close to my husband's work, if possible.
