My truck is by no means a clunker, but I am just worried about moving over and it not passing emissions because it is my only means of transportation. I hear about a lot of MUCH newer vehicles not begin able to pass inspection. I don't believe I qualify for antique registration as it does not have the original frame or motor. I am moving to Austin from Florida so I have never needed a test before. Other than that all aspects of the truck are great, it is a 600 cfm carbureted 350 small block, very street legal, but it is a hot rod. Any insight in to whiter I can register antique with newer parts or suggestions on prepping for testing? Appreciate th help.

Pretty sure your vehicle is exempt from emissions testing, owing to its age.

Check under 'Who is Affected'. You will still need to pass the safety portion of the test, I believe.

I'd probably call the DMV. I don't live in TX but instead in California. I own a 55' Ford Fairlane. Out here the way the law works is that anything older than 1974 is not inspected. It doesn't have the original engine or transmission but since it is a 1955 model it doesn't have to be inspected. Might be different in TX though.

I am pretty sure TX only tests emissions on OBD2. Since you aren't even OBD0 you should have to only pass a safety inspection.
