Won't change the parking situation one bit, IMO. People will still circle around looking for meters because they are 1)cheaper than the garages (unless you are staying 5+ hours), and 2)often closer/quicker to your destination.

It will bring in more revenue for the city. It may lead to more illegal parking. It might turn a few people off to downtown, but I kind of doubt it.

Personally, I've always been more of a lot parker anyway. The hassle isn't worth it to me. But everyone's different.
I don't think it's ridiculous to make it go to midnight. And if it brings more revenue to the city, more power.

IF they use the credit card type meters (are they all switched to that now, anyway?), then it won't be as much hassle as parking in some of the garages. Ofc, you still have to find a spot....
