Unfortunately, searching in this forum for "Month-to-month" shows anything with the word "month" - not too helpful.

We are selling our house but haven't found a new place to buy yet. So, we are looking for a month-to-month rental in South Austin (preferable kid-friendly, with a playground in addition to a pool. A little shade/greenery over the pool would be nice so we dont get fried. Unfortunately, two places with this kind of atmosphere, The Preserve at Travis Creek and the Grand Reserve at Sunset Valley won't do month-to-month leases.)

I called 4 apartment locator places. 2 wouldn't help me, and 2 helped a bit, but since apartment complexes won't play them for anything less than a 3-month lease, they are not familiar with them.

The only one we've found that DO do month-to-month are Regency Park (Little Texan Lane near Stassney and Congress), but after the 1st 30-day period they require 60-day notice (we can't even figure out how that would work!). The agent also found one on the east side of I-35 and Slaughter - a little more southeast than we'd like.

I'd appreciate hearing about any other options - there are only so many apartments I can find and call!

Nina
P.S. I looked into extended-stay places - they are really expensive. Also looked on Craig'sList for subletting, but that's tricky since we can't commit right away (in case we do find a house in time) and don't know how long we'll need to stay.

try searching for "temporary housing" and "corporate housing" there are plenty of places, they are usually fully furnished, not particularly cheap, another option would be to look for a private VBO, homes rented by the week and see if the owner would do a month-to-month.

Austin Temporary Housing - Austin Corporate Housing - Austin Short Term Housing (http://www.austintemporaryhousing.com/index.shtml - broken link)

good luck!

If you cant find a corporate apartment for a decent rate you will probably just have to do a 6 month lease and eat the rest if you find something early. On a positive note you can remodel or paint and do whatever you need at the new place and take your time to move in.

You may check these three: IMT Monterey Ranch, Sedona Springs, and The Park@Monterey Oaks. They have easy access to 290 and Mo-Pac.
