My family and I are looking to buy a house in Leander/ Cedar Park area. We have found 2 homes we are interested in. One is in the Oak Ridge subd. and the other in Block House Creek. How are the 2 subdivisions compared to each other? Crime/ HOA/ known flood area/ any kind of issues etc. By the way, we have 2 young children. Any input will be very helpful. Thank you!

I don't know about crime or the like but Block House has more parks and things to do and 2 pools vs oakridge has I think one pool. The elem schools are about the same, Pleasant Hill is a great school (my kiddos go there) and it has been a great fit for them. Blockhouse ( I have worked there before off and on) and its a reat school also. Pleasant Hill is a bit larger and blockhouse is a bit older school building. I think either are good choices. If it was me I think I would go for Blockhouse however I got a house down 183 by about 5 miles. DM me if you have any onther ?

Not familiar with Oak Ridge, but a friend in BHC says that he had a strong sense of community from day one. He moved a few blocks away, and is still invited to block parties from his old street.

Blockhouse creek all the way. We have lived there for 10 years and it is a great community. We have two small kids, and the school is GREAT!!! There is a really good Home Owner's association that has lots of parties and activities for the kids.
