This is true. Was there other traffic in front of them, or did you notice?

Is that Smokey J's on the corner by the gas station? We wondered what the story is but have never heard anyone talk about it. Perhaps another trip down 620 is in order .

There's no lower speed limit, but if you're slowing everyone else down for no reason, you're just being a douche.

I agree.

Driving 45 -50 in the left lane of a 65 mph zone is impeding. & Websters defines being an impeder as "one who has douchlike qualities".

I'm thinking that if driving 55-60 in the left lane of a 65 mph zone....one is either clueless, self centered or my MIL......but 45 in a 65 is definitely douchlike.

About once a week in the mornings on my way to work, headed North on Mopac, there's someone in the left lane driving the exact same speed as the person next to them in the right lane. I've seen 20-30 cars, all held up by one person, either obliviously or maliciously impeding traffic behind them. It can go on for miles.

I contend that drivers like this are more of a harm to society than drivers like myself who safely drive 65-70 in that lane.

To me its a common courtesy to yield the left lane, much like holding a door open, saying thank you, and respecting your elders that we say the younger generations don't do anymore.

I thought of this thread on Friday, I was up early so I headed to work at 5:30. On a 6 lane expressway (no lights for 8 miles) from the far out burbs to the regular burbs and traffic is a mess. There is a car going 45 in the middle lane and everyone else is going 65 or trying to. As I am finally able to get around the car a white Tahoe pulls up behind the slow car and flashes his lights. The driver of the slow car proceeds to flip off the Tahoe. I think to myself this is going to get ugly and I need some separation but just then the police lights come on. The white Tahoe is an unmarked Sheriff and proceeds to pull the other car over. Made me smile all day!

Someone driving abnormally show like that in the early AM hours is often the sign of a drunk on his way home after an all night party. They probably pulled him over just to check. And to thank him for the single finger salute.

Might have been a drunk but the 50ish year old lady didn't exactly fit the demographic for a DUI. If that was the case then it was an even better morning and she got what she deserved
