I realize that with the downturn most regional retail development has been limited or on hold, but I came across this Master Plan PDF for the HEB in Hutto and attached retail I thought this was on hold this is dated March 2011?

It would be nice if we got an HEB. That is for sure. Concerning your question...I don't know if it's true or not.

OR, it's TRADER JOES!!

Every town needs a decent grocery store, and that town is growing at a rapid pace. It would advantageous for developers to capitalize on the demand there.

I am a Realtor living in Hutto and I try my best to keep up with the info but this is something new that I haven't seen. The biggie thing for us residents is to go and vote on May 14th for the EWCHEC that is proposed to go in to the west of Lowe's near 130/Hwy 79/CR 108.

When this gets built, it is going to bring so much to our little bedroom community. There was a really good article in the Hutto Business Update here http://www.huttobusinessupdate.com/current.pdf (broken link) See page 3 and page 6.

As for that master planned PDF, I wish that HEB would just build already. I had heard a rumor from someone who works for them that there was going to be one going in off of 685 in Pflugerville... Well, Star Ranch is right near Pflugerville so I hope that is the one they were speaking of.

Hard to believe we've got 2 hardware stores, a few restaurants and yet no place locally to shop. I'd even be happy with a Brookshire Brothers coming in at this point; anything to not have to go to Taylor/Pflugerville/Round Rock and keep our money here locally... Not that theres anything wrong with those other cities, I would rather keep my money more in the city that I live and pay taxes in.

I'd mentioned this in another post. About 2 years ago, we visited the Perry Homes model in Star Ranch, and the sales person was telling us about a new HEB Plus that was soon to come in the Star Ranch area. That would benefit the folks in the Lake Forest and Forest Creek areas, as well, because the HEB in our area is a bit small, and I often find myself driving to the HEB Plus off of 79 for groceries. I've yet to see or hear anything about this HEB. My husband and I assumed the plans were canceled or delayed...but maybe the plans are up and running again? That would be nice.
