I got one (rat snake) living in the garage (detached). Even hibernated there over the winter. I've watched his pattern...slithers out from the corner of the garage where the weather stripping is torn. Checks out the duck's area checking for eggs and then it's off to the chicken house along the fence line looking for more. Then he wanders off to the back field. I've even seen him with 3 eggs outlined in his body as he left the hen house one evening.

Small price to pay for rodent control (out in the county on acreage).
We just have to be very observant when we go into the garage for anything.

I'd rather have the non venomous kind myself! That would scare me to death :O

BTW, the snake was about 4 - 4.5 feet long and really fat. Maybe that's the reason I haven't had rabbits getting into my garden this year

Here's a pic of the snake guy and the offender. The snake was in the plant bed behind him. As you can see from the pic, we live on a greenbelt. Makes for a nice view, but probably doesn't help the critter problem at all.

The snake guy wears sandals!!! I bet his life insurance company doesn't know that!

Flip-flops, actually. But he claims he's never been bitten. At least not yet.

I wouldn't care if he was in a toga! If he shows up at my house to remove a snake, for free, no less, he can wear whatever he darn well pleases.

How did you find this guy, and who would we call if we need someone like him, but aren't in Steiner?

That guy doesn't look very professional. Flip flops and shorts.

Next time call TruTech Inc. My GF works for them and has a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Captive Management. She can put you on a service plan which prevents snakes from coming into your yard, instead of just calling someone when you already have a problem. PM me for her direct line.

Sorry for the shameless plug, but you aren't dealing with the problem by just having the snakes removed. That's just a temp fix. They will keep coming back.

He advertises in all the Steiner publications (our local newsletter, etc.). I have no idea who to call if you don't live in Steiner. I'm sure you could do a Google search and something would come up. But I would think by the time someone got out there, the snake would be gone.

I would never call to have a harmless snake removed, but the venomous ones can go.
