Although it should have absolutely no effect on his radio career, this is ironic for a host of reasons:

Radio Host Jeff Ward Arrested for DWI (http://www.myfoxaustin.com/dpp/top_stories/Radio-Host-Jeff-Ward-Arrested-for-DWI-20110610-ktbcw#axzz1OuSyOeNQ - broken link)

I heard on the radio..they did a field sobriety test and he failed.
There was another guy on his show today..the radio channel is going to decide what will happen to him.

"No refusal" weekend for ROT Rally started tonight at 9pm... so he was lucky to get busted yesterday. I'm sure he refused any breath or blood test, he's spoken to enough lawyers to know what to do.

He doesn't look drunk in his mugshot:

I agree that he's smart enough to have not taken any breath or blood tests. It was not no-refusal weekend yet, so they wouldn't have forced him.

And in Texas, if you don't take a breath test or blood test, there is pretty much zero chance that the case will go any further.

He will go on the air Monday and say that he is not able to discuss it due to legal reasons, and things will go on as though nothing happened. By the time the city makes a decision as to whether or not to pursue the case, everyone will have forgotten about it.

I don't recall hearing him on the radio, so why is this ironic?

If he wasn't close to the legal limit, why did he refuse a breath test? If he had taken it and passed - the officers would have said "Mr. Ward, slow down and drive carefully."

Few things -

1. Art Acevedo is a big fan of his show, and is often a guest

2. One of his more popular bits has been making fun of celebrity mug shots, posting them on his website, etc...

3. He extensively talks about the "no refusal" weekends, and most recently observed that the woman who hit and killed the pedestrian on Exposition did so just hours before a no refusal weekend for Memorial Day started...

4. His style is generally to be critical of everyone and every thing, but he reserves some of his most biting commentary for politicians or media figures who get in trouble and it's splashed all over the news...

Yeah, I guess I listen to him a lot. He does a good show. But I think many people would call this "karma" for some of the smack he hands out and his general holier-than-thou attitude. That never seems to hurt the ratings, though.
