Making a trek up from SA to visit Disc Nation for a few goodies for me, but need a few cool places to take the wife. Already on the list is the new Lush store and she loves shoes, so where are all the cool shoe stores?? No shoe carnival, DSW or other big chain stores. She loves Brown Shoe Closet at the San Marcos outlets so looking for places like that.

Goodie Two Shoes on S. Congress has some fun (and cheap) shoes. Small selection, though.

Spring Frost - Burnet Rd. Love that store.

And the usual spots...Nordstrom Rack and NM Last Call for good deals.

Yes! That's a fun little shop. There are also some other clothing/shoe stores on South Congress (none are giant shoe emporiums, but they aren't chains and have some unique stuff) that may be of interest:

...and Strut and SoLa on South Lamar. Some of these shops also have menswear, or are next to other interesting non-clothing stores, so the original poster may be able to entertain himself while his wife shops. And of course there are plenty of nice lunch spots on South Congress.
