Um...no, it's never nice to eat at places like that. I'd rather wait and have a pbj at home.

The turkey was almost like ham, so different people will like or not like that. The ribs were fine, but seemed to have no rub on them, just served with sauce, and the fried okra was not well spiced - kind of blah. The coleslaw was good. The service was good and the people nice, and the setting was pleasant. So kind of a mixed bag. If I had it to do again, we would have gone to Tomodachi, as suggested by Calel. But I think Silver Grill would be OK for a lunch.

And we did buy the TV. It was delivered today, and we are enjoying it this evening. Successful trip!
My favorite is the pulled pork--sometimes a combo with sausage. The cole slaw is sweet enough to 'bump' into the pork with sauce on it. Oddly, I've never tried the ribs. The fried okra surely would benefit from more seasoning or something like a marinara sauce. Rice pilaf is pretty good. Sweet tea is passable...that's a key for me! Glad it was 'OK' for your crew. Always fun to get a new TV!

Horrible canned chai tea at the Steeping room and lots of attitude from the staff, I wouldn't go. Went to Jasper's for Happy Hour, it was awful. My gf said Gloria tasted like frozen mexican food. I'll agree that Maggiano, Kona and McCormick are decent to good places to eat. I've also heard good things about Zushi. Urban was also pretty good, although it's at a nearby hotel not in the mall part of the center. Can't speak for the othe rplaces.

I've never tried their chai, but I do enjoy Steeping Room's teas. The service is pretty slow though and the acoustics are terrible inside, so avoid the lunch hour at all costs (I once felt physically ill from the roar of noise) or wrangle an outside table.

North has the best pizza I have ever eaten, and I have been to Italy several times. It is a goat cheese, fig and prosciutto on a cracker thin crust, mmm, mmm. I also like Gloria's. The food definitely didn't taste frozen to me. I have to agree about that Chinese buffet being disgusting. I live quite near Mopac and Parmer. I had very bad food at The Silver Grill before it was purchased by a new owner, so I'm a little leary.
