Okay fellow Austinites, need some help!!!!!

My best friend and I share same birthday a year apart and we are looking to do something in austin. His wufe is pregnant and we got 30 people or so coming age of 25-30 range.

We thought about lake with a boat party but might be too much heat with his wife, then thought of oasis, but how much time can you really spend there??!

Any other ideas anyone can throw out there?

What about weirdos? Never been but not sure if it too much of a college crowd ...

Why not book a clubhouse in a decent apartment complex and have food catered?

Reminds me of the young man in his first interview...
Interviewer: What's your birth date?
Young man: August 2nd
Interviewer: What year?
Young man: Well, DUH, EVERY year!

I wouldn't have thought of Weirdos as an alternative to the Oasis; but .

I never saw the 'old' Oasis, but we've been twice this year and enjoyed both visits. If it's an evening event, you'll get the sunset--even IF there is no water in the lake! You could still bake...depending on the seating arrangement. Covered parking and plenty of seating!

If the group wanted to play volleyball as part of the festivities, Weirdos makes perfect sense!

i dont think cost is an issue - just want to get of the 'home' enviroment and do something around austin. I think killing a few hrs at oasis may be best option and let everyone relax and those that go out can go out afterwards

I went to a fun party recently at the Highball on S. Lamar. People were swing dancing and then went into one of the Karaoke rooms.
