Do remote starters make sense for cars in Austin? Traditionally, people use them to warm up their cars but it seems like it would work for cooling down too. My daughter complains a lot about hot cars here in Boston so I can't imagine how much she'll complain in Austin We'd be buying it with a new car and the dealership is asking $300 I think. Thanks!

A friend has a remote start in his caddy and it is nice to get into a semi warm car instead of face of the sun hot...

That quote sounds about right. We got ours done at Mother's Window Tint and it was about that. It will definitely make your car cooler to get into here in the searing heat of Austin.

We lived in Chicago before moving here and had a starter installed there. I felt a little silly using it here but . . . it's been nice not suffocating first thing in the car. I don't know that I would have installed it for Austin specifically but I am certainly enjoying the benefits. Plus I like to freak out people in the parking lot but having a car near them randomly start.
