Default Please give me 10 reasons why move to the Austin area?

I am considering moving from Orange County, California to Austin, TX. to rise our family.

I'll give you our list. Since it's ours, it's really subjective.

1. It's a family-friendly place.
2. It's pretty. The trees are gorgeous, the river is gorgeous even when swollen over its banks. My bad: they're lakes but I have a hard time calling them that because of what it looks like on a map!
3. It's not so big. You can drive from one end of Austin to another in 45 mins. or so (not rush hour).
4. There's a lot of stuff to do.
5. It's pretty.
6. There are no Santa Anas! No more waking up nauseous because the air pressure is funky.
7. It's more laid back. It's not considered offensive or self-indulgent to ask someone how they're doing and have a long, sincere chat about the answer.
8. Apparently, restaurants both high end and low have no hard and fast dress codes. I've been told by several people that you can be in a tux or cut off jeans and no one would bat an eye, but some on the forums indicate this attitude is disappearing.
9. There is sunshine. I don't know about you, but the grey "June Gloom" that OC's had through August for the last few years has bugged me. Summer didn't really get going until almost September. Ironically, the recent rains have postponed Austin's summer but I guess that's just a cyclical thing.
10. It's pretty. I'm having trouble getting past the whole tree thing. There are so many!

Yes, ask not what Austin can do for you. How and why will Austin be a better place once you move here?
