Read the actual terms of the agreement... from 3 - 7 pm Austin Energy is allowed to turn the AC off for UP TO 15 mins out of every 30. That means the temp will actually be maintained fairly close to what was set, and should be no problem to cool even better after 7pm.

It's a tradeoff to avoid brownouts, where are far more of a problem for everyone.

Well, I call major BS on YOU.

Today, the day you posted, Sept. 23, 2012, the weather prediction for the next 10 days is 93 degrees or less every day, 7 if those days the high will be 89 degrees and less. So how do you get those 98 degree temperatures at 7 PM?

At 7 pm today the temperature was only 84 degrees. Intellicast - Austin Past Weather Observations in Texas (78723)

By the way, today was the Autumnal Equinox so today was officially the first day of FALL.

So, it is NOT SUMMER, NOT 98 DEGREES today at any time, and since the outdoor temperature at 7 PM was only 84 degrees it was probably NOT 90 DEGREES inside the poor guys apartment.

So there was pretty much nothing you said that was correct.

So I call Major BS!

First off I went with what the guy said second I didn't say today I said summers as in during the summer. Holy cow do you have a lot of time on your hands to try to prove and argument on a message board. Now go have fun and spend the next 3 hours of your life dissecting my post I expect a thorough response with facts and charts and all.

Re read my post. I'm not talking about the terms I'm talking about getting a third floor apt with little ac down to a comfortable temp in no time.

He didn't say it was a little ac. He said there was no ac, because the unit was on "Save."

If the unit was properly sized and working properly, turning it off for 15 minutes at a time would not give a temperature of 89 inside. So something had to be broken.

He never checked back in after that original post so i guess we'll never know.
