We are relocating from Northern California and will be flying with a dog and 2 cats. Almost all airlines have an 85 degree temperature max that they will allow pets to travel as checked baggage, and I don't see the temps dropping that much in the next month or so, unless we can find flights that arrive late at night. Although from what I understand there isn't that much of a temperature drop in the evening anyway. Just wondering what other people have experienced.

We had the opposite problem when we moved to Boston in February one year and fortunately we lucked out and they had a freak warm spell for a few days but I can't imagine being that lucky twice.

Thanks!

Can't comment except to say that I did see some people with dogs who were in the cabin with them. They were smaller dogs...but might be something to look into if your dog is small...or maybe for your cat? We flew US Air when we last went to Austin in June.

I used USHIP, its kinda like Ebay. You place what you want shipped & someone might be able to transport them. We had someone pick up our Lab & Bird from NJ.

I've travelled with my cats and my dog in the cabin. (carry-on)

The problem is that you have 3, and your dog might be too big (our dog is 14 pounds now, but she was a little younger/smaller when we flew.

They make you pay per pet, prices depend on the airline. Also, it's one pet per person AND there is a maximum amount of pets per cabin. Plus, you need a soft or hard carrier that will fit under the seat in front of you.
