Well, I had the plumber replace the toilet today. Replaced a Universal Rundle with a Glacier Bay 2 button low flow toilet. I love the look of it, very sleek and modern and I love having the dual buttons on the top. Funny thing is I asked the plumber which button was low flow and which was high flow and he really didn't know.

There are two buttons. One is green and small and the other is large. You would think the green button is for low flow (#1) and the other button for #2 but the odd thing is when you depress the green button it depresses both buttons so to me that would imply the opposite (i.e. the green button is doing at least the same as the other so it should be the high volume flush I think).

The good news is the refill is so much faster than it used to be, no running at all, no more mineral deposits that can't be cleaned either. Awesome!

I hired it out and I'm glad I did. The plumber had to weld off and then back on a gasket that was broken, there's no way I could have done that.

You can get these toilets for around $98 at Home Depot. I can't wait to get my new lower water bill! Also, when friends visit, they will notice this and will hopefully be a conversation piece about how much I conserve. Or encourage them to get low flush toilets too.

I like the idea of using less water for #1 and have considered a retrofit of my existing low flow toilets with this "technology". Quite frankly these should be the only option around here for residential.
