Hey there, Austinites!

Quick question...my parents are heading down to Austin this weekend with 2 other couples. They are looking for a place to go listen to some music (maybe jazz) on Saturday night, and prefer a place that caters to people more their age. Doesn't have to be exclusively a 55+ crowd, just don't want to be surrounded by a bunch of youngsters

Anyway, I haven't lived in Austin for a number of years now, so I don't know where to recommend. Have any suggestions I can pass onto them?

Austin is light on jazz in general (unfortunately), but the Elephant Room has for a long time been the place to go.

Elephant Room

For touring shows, One World Theater has many jazz and fake jazz (!) shows. Great venue but pricey.

If they're coming to Austin and want to see music, they could also check out Austin/Texas style music - the Broken Spoke or Hills Cafe.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think that might be a little too "country" for them. They don't care for that style of music too much. Texas rock might be ok though.
