We will be looking in a few months for a rental, up to $3000 a month, fenced yard, golden retriever dog friendly, two bath house within 10 miles of the city. Who do we use to find a rental? We will be a retired, 50s couple and I'm a native Texan looking forward to coming home.

In that price range you should definitely consider the areas just West of downtown Austin, some really nice neighborhoods there and much closer in then 10 miles.

Two baths O.K. Did you want any bedrooms with that?

CptnRn, one bedroom is all we need. The grown kids can stay in a hotel! Thank you for neighborhood suggestions. Any realtor rental suggestions?

Happy to help. FYI. For less money you can probably rent a 4 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms in your price range. However, there have been so many people moving to Austin in the last couple of years, rental occupancies are their highest occupancy rates, so availability is low.

how many sq ft? Because if thats all you want you should be able to live very central for under 2K. Even the high end downtown condos are mostly less than 3K

here is a craigslist search that will give you an idea of prices

Most if not all of the home rentals are found on the local MLS website: Austin Real Estate | AustinHomeSearch | Austin Realtors | Austin TX Real Estate

A good realtor ought to be able to help you narrow down your search. Good luck!
