Hi all, I am visiting Austin this Wednesday for 4 days. First two nights, I will stay at Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Austin. I saw that they are charging $28 a night? So, is there a free parking or cheap parking close to this hotel? I don't mind paying $8 a day but I thought $28 is rip off.
I read somewhere suggested to park at Whole Foods which is like 4 minutes away from this hotel but they said 2 hour max on parking? But how do they know I parked more than 2 hours?? Also can I park there overnight after 10pm?

On Friday, I will be staying at Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Austin. Same here too... where can I park for less than what hotel charges me?

Thanks much.

There are plenty of surface lots. There is one at 7th and san jacinto. There is an ampco parking garage at 7th and brazos. I prefer the surface lots. They typically run 5 or $8/day.
