how do posts get locked
This may sound like a dumb newbie question, but how/why are posts locked. I noticed a recent one on this forum was just locked and I can't figure out why. If there was some rude name calling or such going on I could understand it, but nothing of the sort in any of the three posts? Just curious.

Threads can be locked for whatever reason a Moderator or the Administrator sees fit. If you are referring to the thread Denton vs Austin, it appears that the Moderator thought the OP was trying to stir up trouble (for lack of a better word) and locked the thread.

Yes. I checked his threads on Denton and all three are negative. It is clear he doesn't like Denton. So why bring it up again? He is getting plenty of input on Austin in other posts.

Yep, that was the thread I was wondering about. I was trying to figure out what was up with all of his posts also. Everywhere I looked there was a new thread from him wondering about the area, or bad mouthing it. Couldn't figure out how someone was moving to like five different places at the same time.

Update on Closed Thread
I received a PM from artsyguy explaining what he was trying to achieve with his post. Therefore, I re-opened the thread.
To all: Please don't be vague on your posts. Let people know what you're looking for. Thank you!

I cannot think of a more perfect name for someone who locks and unlocks threads than Steel Man
Well.... maybe "Locksmith" but that's just too obvious.

How do you like my new signature block? This is actually part of my job...buying about 2 million pounds of this stuff each month.
