On the playground today, had two separate folks mention that there has been a blue truck trailing kids in these two hoods offering candy? Searched Statesman and nothing was there.

Quite a bit on the news the past couple of days re: Steiner. I haven't heard about anything in Cedar Park but there was one incident just east of Avery Ranch in one of the Brushy Creek MUD neighborhoods--just a suspicious person in a vehicle--no contact with children, I believe.

It's been all over the news. There have been two or three enticement encounters between the suspect and children. Mother was on TV and said her son was waiting at corner on sidewalk for her wile he was on bike or scooter while she was jogging behind him 25 ft away. Suspect pulled up to corner and said to boy something along the lines of "waiting for me?" and a few other things. Boy ignored him and as mother approached boy and corner suspect drove off.

According to police reports, a man in a pickup stopped a 9-year-old boy on Dec. 27 and asked if the child wanted some candy. On Dec. 30, a man in a pickup reportedly stopped a 9-year-old girl and told her to get into the car. Both children ran to safety, said Capt. Jeffrey Hayes, a spokesman for the Cedar Park police.
