I was wondering if there are certain months, or certain weeks of the month that it is best/cheaper to start a lease on? IE: how it's cheaper to buy plan tickets on a Tuesday sort of thing.. I am also wondering if different days throughout the week make a difference..
thanks

Hi, to answer your question, its usually a better time to rent in the winter months, Nov - Feb. but because the rental market in Austin has been so tight, the market is still higher priced. Days don't really matter.

What I do suggest is to view a property when it first comes out on the listings and see it during the week, because people have a tendency to view on Saturday and Sundays, and usually by Mondays, the properties have an application on them.

Also, better to start looking early than later. I have noticed more listings are coming out weeks/month ahead versus the 1-2 week time frame.

Austin is 98% occupied right now in the rental market so its helpful to get sent a list of just released properties and go out and view.

This all depends on where you are moving. In a place like Austin not really but in other places like South Florida for example its cheaper to sign a lease in late spring than early fall because all the snowbirds just headed back up North.
