Yahoo! Over 2 inches is expected from this next Pacific storm. The creeks should be flowing nicely after this one. Hopefully the Hill Country will get some nice precipitation because we need to raise those lake levels!

Bring it.

I raise cattle and horses...they eat grass. Hope it keeps raining and the hay gougers lose their shirts.

"At Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, a total 4.35 inches in rain was recorded since midnight, almost as much as all the rain we saw in the month of December and more than any one day in 2010, Sutton said. At Camp Mabry, a total of 2.42 inches of rain has been reported so far. "

This winter, we're off to a good start. Above average rainfall in both December and January. Both months saw 4+ inches of rain. This will bode well for the creeks, lakes, and the wildflowers this spring.

The retention pond at my son's school was around 90% filled this morning. I don't believe I remember it being that full ever.

hydromet is showing that south and the east side of austin got 5 inches, central was about 3 and west got a little over 2. The further west, the less. Too bad, 5 inches over the basin would have really filled the lakes.

Wow, I didn't know the airport got that much more! The updated article now says 5.65 inches at ABIA.

NWS shows Mabry has had 3.5 since yesterday morning.

Wow, what a storm! The map I saw said that Sunset Valley - the closest to me - got over 4 inches last night. I don't have up a proper rain guage, but I have a couple of buckets in the back yard that have close to a foot of water in them! Didn't get a full night's sleep, but that's OK.
