Can anyone recommend a decent 2 BR apartment near UT, with a pool, +/- $700?

Well, I wouldn't recommend them, but the heavily populated student apartment complexes on or near Riverside Dr. in 78741 would be in that price range and most will be on the UT shuttle route.

If you could afford $900 per month, you might be able to find a place in the much nicer area of Far West/NW Hills (78731?) that is on the UT shuttle route as well. You could find 1br places in your price range there.

How near are you thinking? Almost anything within walking distance of campus will easily be that much per bedroom, and most of the reasonably priced leases are already signed for next fall.

PadMapper Apartment Search

There are a lot of apartment locator services in Austin that do not charge a fee, try them. However, as the others have said, $700 for 2 bedroom is probably wishful thinking close to UT.
