Anyone know of any Easter Egg hunts for next weekend? Will they be listed in the paper? On a separate but relevant question, what day are events around town printed? Ex: the town we lived before would print that weekends and following week events in the Friday paper.

A list of hunts here:Mr Johnnys Kid Events - daily calendar - Sat - March 31 - 2012 - of things to do with children and family activities in Austin Texas. List your event at www.kidevents.com/even-ad.htm

Most hunts are this week or a week from today, not actually on Easter. I'm sure a list is printed somewhere but most activities are posted online. Mr. Johnny's, Little Austinite, Free Fun in Austin.

Cedar Park, Leander and RR have them this weekend I think. Each city has it listed on the website.

The daily Austin Statesman publishes a weekend calendar on Thursdays, and their online events are listed in their Austin 360 entertainment section. Austin news, sports, weather, Longhorns, business | Statesman.com
Austin TX entertainment, events, food, movies, music | Austin360.com

The weekly alternative paper The Austin Chronicle publishes every Thursday, and has events listed in several themed calendars.

Haven't they cancelled one somewhere due to the parents being a bit over-zealous and helping their kids find the candy?

That was in Colorado. I think parents should be disallowed from participating in them except for the tiniest hunters. They tried to do one here in Hutto with a helicopter drop and it was pure mayhem, people shoving and pushing and tackling. I think my daughter maybe got 2 eggs. The same for my nieces, and I saw people with so many eggs they would hardly stay put in the basket because they were piled so high. Ridiculous. Adults really should know better! That one was cancelled, and the one we have here at Fritz park had to put in a rule about that too. The one in Pflugerville said they weren't doing a field hunt, but it was booth to booth.

Circle C Ranch Community Easter Egg Hunt
There are many community celebrations in Circle C Ranch, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Fourth of July Parade, and Christmas Party. This year, the Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Child Development Center on Saturday April 7, 2012.
This year there will be a nominal fee of $1 per child. The Circle C Ranch Homeowner’s Association does ask that parents help make sure each child is limited to 12 eggs total, so that everyone can enjoy the day. The hunt will offer separate sections for children ages 1-3, 4-6, and 7-10 years.
If this year is anything like last year, the morning will be filled with children in their Sunday best, parents toting cameras, and full parking lots. You’ll definitely want to plan ahead so you get there early. Here are some shots of our kids enjoying the Circle C Ranch Easter Egg Hunt in 2011.
