Default Couple Starting a Business looking for a place to live

We would like to be close to Westlake Hills as that is where our business will be located. One of us will be working a steady job until the business is profitable. We are neat, quiet and have a small dog. We are looking to move at the end of March.

Specifics? What are you looking for? What's your budget?

Live as close to your workplace as you possibly can, even if it means purchasing or renting a smaller home. Simple reason: the traffic is insane anytime around and during working hours, and Austin doesn't have the infrastructure to support its current population.

We are looking for something small since our budget is a bit tight. Maybe a garage apartment or something of that nature. We are wanting to spend around $700-$800 for rent.

There's a 600 sq ft studio apartment for rent on the MLS in the Cuernavaca area for $759. If you want something a tad bigger, there are some one bedroom apartments off Bee Caves Rd in Westlake that run around $650 a month. They don't get advertised much from what I can tell - the owner puts up a sign if she's leasing. They are off Bulian and Blue Ridge Trail. My niece lived there for a few years and they are older apartments but pretty spacious for a one bedroom. It's a tough area to find inexpensive rentals. If you need to go further out - the area around Ben White (Hwy 71) wouldn't be a bad commute.

Depending on where your business is...

If you want to be on the north side of Westlake like Davenport Village, Montevista condos just on the other side of the river has $700 units http://www.leaseatmontevista.com/

If your business is south, actually in the city of Westlake Hills, like Bee Caves Rd, you might try Barton Hills Rd or that side of Zilker Park. You can find a basic apartment for under $800 there and be close to downtown and the park if you care about that. Still a reasonably short drive or bike ride to work. Spyglass area would be closer but I'm not sure there's anything in your price range there.

If you don't care about downtown, or your business is somewhere else, or you want a garage apartment because you don't want to sign a long lease, well you should have been more specific in your original question!

I know one of the units is at 103 Blue Ridge Trail. There are several complexes right there together - not all are owned by the same person. I have seen For Rent signs out front when they have vacancies. The one my niece lived in didn't have WD connections.
