Default New York to Austin

Looking to move to Austin / Hill Country area from New York within 4 years. My daughter will be ready for High School and can't see sending her on the subway everyday. We are interested in possibly buying a townhouse or small 3 bedroom home (up to 300k) within the next year, to rent out while we wait for my daughter to finish elementary school. My daughter would like to attend a Catholic High School so we would like to be near (within 15 miles) St. Michaels Academy by Barton Creek.

Would like feedback on investments properties in Covered Bridge/Travis Country and Lakeway. Any other suggestions would be helpful. However I think Dripping Springs would be to far from the city.

Any information you have about St. Michaels would also be helpful.

We are looking for something with low maintenance as we would be spending our summers in NY.

Just wanted to say: that's really creative thinking! Someone else will have to answer your question, though. Will you move back when she graduates?

She will be off to college where ever she wants and we will see how we like it.
This had been our plan since the mid 90's. I am just sorry we didn't buy back then when we could have gotten a house for under 100k.

In Lakeway, check out The Vistas at Lakeway. They are new condominiums/townhouses which start at $250K, there are great pre-construction incentives at the moment. This would be a very good investment.
