Default English courses in/near Pflugerville

Hi, there!

I'm new to the forum, so please excuse me for posting this in the wrong place.

I'm from Porto Alegre, a city in southern Brasil in the border with Uruguay and Argentina.

I have some relatives living in Pflugerville, TX (78660) and I was wondering if this was a real city or if it's still Austin (I don't quite understand terms like counties, municipalities, cities, towns...) because in my state we have only cities, counties and the state itself (Rio Grande do Sul).

So, I want to take an English course in TX to make the most of my relatives' home there. And also because the Texan accent is the best in the world! =P

However, I've been doing some research on this and found out that most of the courses are about 30/45 minutes away from Pfluggerville.

Can anyone help me out?

PS.: again, thanks for y'all attention and sorry about my English.

Amigo gaúcho, seja bem-vindo!

In the United States, counties are a level of government between cities and states that we don't have in Brazil. The closest comparison I can make is that a county is like a microrregião or a região metropolitana, but that has actual powers to make laws and regulations.

About Pflugerville - it is a real city (município) that has its own government, but I would compare it maybe to Cachoeirinha or Alvorada. They are close to the big city (Austin for Pflugerville, Porto Alegre for Cachoeirinha or Alvorada) but they are far enough and big enough that you can live your life without having to go into the big city every day.

The only English school I know anything about is the Texas Intensive English Program. I've heard that it's very good - it's also right behind the University of Texas, so you get the opportunity to practice with lots of Americans if you wish.

Boa sorte e se quiser mais informações me envie uma mensagem pelo site

We're in the process of trying to get a student visa for our niece in Brazil. Her visa interview at the consulate is scheduled for early October. She's planning on attending the Texas Intensive English Program near UT. They have both full-time and part-time courses.

I was visiting Austin over the Labor Day weekend and I had a chance to visit the school -- very nice!

Call the school and ask to speak with Angelique!
