Anyone here Mountain Bike on Trails
Since this seems to be a cool group of people here, just wondering if anyone here treads some trails on your mountain bikes?
If so, where about do you mostly ride?
I like Walnut Creek park and The GreenBelt.

I love the mountain biking here. Before they closed Forest Ridge to bikers, it was my favorite trail (off 360 near Lakewood, west side). I think you may still be able to get to it through St. Edwards park though. Bull Creek greenbelt is also fun, but not much of a challenge. Because I'm living SW now, I mostly ride the Barton Creek greenbelt.
When I used to live in NW Hills, I'd sometimes take the mountain bike all the way from 2222/Mesa area down to the town lake trail, using all the various bike routes and greenbelts running through the city: Far West to when it ends on Mopac, then over the highway to the bike/hike only park, then down Shoal Creek a bit, onto Shoal Creek greenbelt, through Peace Park, get on Johnson Creek greenbelt (or stay on Shoal Creek greenbelt through Duncan Park), then downtown. I like the last bit on the Johnson Creek trail, because it uses those paved paths that snake right near Mopac just before you cross south to the river, and you end up under the bridge at "the rock". I always notice them when driving on Mopac, but you hardly ever see anyone actually riding that trail. I've got a google earth .kmz of that route.. if you are interested pm me.
I've tried Emma Long (very technical) and Walnut Creek... I have a few friends who ride Walnut Creek regularly. Seems like a good place.
Also, there is Rocky Hill Ranch about 40 minutes east, near Smithville. A dedicated Mountain Biking ranch. They host duathalons and other events there, and I think you can camp if you arrange it in advance.
Pedernales Falls state park is good, too.

Mike:
No gps (yet), beginner-to-intermediate mountain bike rider. Really technical stuff and I'm carrying the bike more often than not. But I love it...
