SW Austin down 3%. Shocking because houses on the market are getting contracts within 30 days! Some within days or weeks. Crazy!

They weren't at the beginning of the year, there was almost a perfect balance of buyers and sellers; more recently (last 60 days or less) that has swung heavily in favor of the seller.

Ours went up 19%! WTF.. and I thought the increase last year was bad. This is ridiculous.

Just happy it didn't jump up, and I don't have to appeal this year. Next year, I expect an increase.

This is in 78704. So our appraised value is now 13% higher than our actual purchase price in 2009. Anyone think that is reasonable?

Not me, seems pretty outrageous. You should look into protesting it.

I'm in 78702 and my appraisal value is 45% over what I paid for the home in 2011. I put in new floors and new siding, but there's no way the value went up that much. Does this make any sense at all?

Doesn't anyone homestead their house? If you did, they couldn't go any higher than 10% for the increase each year!
