Hi, I just moved to Austin Tx and I am living close Brodie Lane / Bowie Hi School. I live 15 minutes away from West Lake High School. Is there anyway I could transfer to that school without having to move there? Or maybe another school which is better than Bowie?

Thanks for any help!

Not sure if they still do but Eanes allowed those types of transfers in the past, bc they are paid per student by the state. Call the Eanes admin office and check.

Bowie is still a really good school..

I've looked into transferring into Eanes before. Usually, they don't allow it during the school year. I'm pretty sure you have to do it over the summer and wait for the next school year to transfer. They do accept transfers though.

This was a couple of years ago so I'm not sure if it's still the same way. Also, the deadline to transfer might be earlier in the summer. So make sure that you don't miss it!

I believe Eanes does allow some transfers. They benefit in their Chapter 41 calculations by having more students. There will be some restrictions on participating in UIL events.

You can apply to individual schools. They have no obligation to accept your student. Also, being accepted one year doesn't guarantee acceptance in future years.
