Anyone put mesh in air vents cause of scorpions? (Austin: how much, house)

They DO actually fall from vents. The one I found today, there is literally no other explanation.

I would focus on how they got into the vents, over how to keep them out. If there's that much leaking in, how much $$$ and air is leaking out?

They usually come up from the drains or the cracks in the bottom of doors. They are looking for ants/roaches. Get rid of the ants/roaches and you'll get rid of the scorpions.

We've had two in the past two years.

We're seeing more scorpions this year out in SW Austin - even during the day, which is usually pretty rare. I don't believe they come in through pipes - I'm not sure how a scorpion could gain access into sealed water pipes coming from the street up into the house. I think people commonly find them in sinks, bath tubs etc. because once inside they seek water sources. We use Bulwark and they said that scorpions CAN enter a home through ceiling fans and light fixtures that are not well-sealed. I'm pretty sure even a well-sealed fixture could provide access for a tenatious lil feller however. We have Bulwark dust our attic once a year and they come out every two months to treat the exterior of the house to kill the bugs that scorpions eat. When we do see scorpions, they are usually sick and moving slow from the pesticide. We did find an alarmingly huge centipede in our bedroom the other night though. Nothing like a schnauzer sleeping under the bed to alert you to these terrors.

My DD saw the back end of a scorpion scoot under the freezer the other day in the garage. DH is calling a bug guy - we have only been here 6 weeks and 2 scorpions in the house and who knows how many in the garage is enough for me. They discussed dusting the attic space and DH has been spraying the perimeter of the house.

Centipedes???? are they also nasty? Bite, sting etc?
Are they large?

Oh and we have 3 house cats, will any of these critters cause harm to a curious city cat who has moved to critter country?

The centipedes we have are black and orange, something out of a terror movie. They are long- 5-7 inches, wide-3/4 inch and yes, they are aggressive. They will come to you and sting you if you are just hanging out near them. It happened to a neighbor, she was just sitting in the grass and she saw one come her way and whamo!
