I am going to a sold-out show at the Backyard tomorrow night. I haven't been there yet but have heard nothing but horror stories about the parking situation. I just wondered if anybody had any tips/advice about parking. They do offer a shuttle from the Hill Country Galleria, wondering if that might be a better option than the actual parking at the Backyard. Any help would be appreciated!!

I'm pretty sure the only way to get parking at the Backyard is to get there 3-4 hours early, so any other option would be better. We parked at a bank next to Chikfila and walked (it was after hours). Also, beware the traffic. We were almost late to our show because we didn't expect to be stuck in horrific traffic for so long. It's a terrible set-up and I doubt I'll be back (unless it's something spectacular).

Who's running the shuttle and what's the capacity? You could've stuck waiting for shuttle, but that might be better than sitting in the gridlock traffic after.

I love The Backyard and will always go to concerts there. The parking does suck though so I would recommend taking the shuttle or parking somewhere else like another poster mentioned. I've seen that part of Bee Cave Pkwy completely backed up before a concert so try to get there early!!

we made the mistake of washing the car before we went to that concert. I couldn't believe how dusty and rough it was. At least they've put down some rubbing padding. We got there about 5:30 and had no traffic or issue getting parked. But if you're in low sitting car, I'd advise not to park in there. it was terrible.

We ended up deciding to go very early, which I usually don't do. We got there about 4:30 and parked right up front. The doors didn't open until 6 but that was okay, we just sat in our car and people watched. We left while the last song was playing so had no issues getting out either. I do agree about the condition of the parking lot--it was just awful! I can't believe for as long as that new venue has been open there have been no improvements in the parking lot at all.
