If you carry a concealed weapon, you have to obtain a licence to do so. My dad carries one in his car, as does one of my female friends. No gun racks anymore (but I wouldn't do that even if I could). Nice law...finally! And even though so many people own firearms, they aren't running around like the wild west shooting up everything. Lots of people here hunt as well, and only use guns for that purpose. My B.I.L has hunting rifles, but keeps them locked up in a gun safe in his garage. I believe in the right to bear arms, however, please remember to keep them locked up and out of the reach of small hands. This personally scares me, because I'm afraid of my daughter (when she's old enough) going to some friends house, and them getting ahold of that parents guns. I think I'll just be asking them about that before she goes to their houses. (I'm sure they'll grow leary of it after a while

Roses, I think all gun owners should own a safe. I have a safe that cost more some of my guns, that's for sure!
As for CHGL, I have one. Also, I did carry ONLY when travel when I did not have a CHGL, read up on the law's. You have to right to carry as long as you are going between county-lines. Also best to keep gun and ammo away from each other w/o a CHGL's. |

You should always immediately let the officer know that you're carrying a concealed weapon. That doesn't change the fact that they don't particularly like it when you travel with a locked and loaded weapon in your car.

Lifelong Austinite/Texan - CHL holder for 3 years.
Never had an issue. Cops pulled be over once, and I had 3 loaded assault shotguns laying on the back seat. The cop says 'Nice guns.' then handed me my ticket. |

Can someone please tell me what CHGL stands for? Also, can the gun be loaded full clip and one in the chamber?
