With Trader Joes and In N' Out coming, there's nothing left for Californians who want to move to Austin to complain about... except the weather

Probably as long as the lines were when Krispy Kreme opened up in La Frontera a while back. So many people when ape over it, failing to realize there was one in Austin in the early 1980s. Before long the novelty wore off and that storefront is now a diamond store.

I don't know if this will be a novelty probably not. It's got a pretty big fan base and I see them succeeding imo.Now trader joes meh don't see the big deal with them coming to town.

When in LA...

Pterry's > in and out. Better beef IMO.

IMO, In-n-Out is fresher and much more unique in taste than P. Terry's regular burger which seems bland, and InO is much better than Mighty Fine.

After hearing all the crazy hype here about P. Terry's, we were underwhelmed... nothing really original about their patty, sauce or toppings, very decent but just unoriginal taste-wise. I do like their chicken burger though. Also, the buns are not great; InO makes their own and P.Terry's does not (Mrs. Baird's).

There are SO many great local offerings that I can only think that the "In-n-Out" cult has to be an "I've moved but I haven't really MOVED" phenomenon of people wanting to cling to what's familiar rather than embracing what's unique and good in their new place. Not uncommon, of course, but it's what leads to things like the same stores everywhere and people going to Greece or Spain or France or Italy and wanting to know where the McDonald's is the moment they get off the plane or boat, because it's familiar and "safe".

The upside is there may be less fools trying to navigate the menu at Whataburger now.
