Hello. Go Cubs! I grew up in Chicago. Welcome to Austin. We are looking in Circle C and Meridian in Southwest Austin. They have some beautiful homes in your price range. Schools are outstanding, plenty of activities in the neighborhood. The city is about 14 miles but not a bad commute, much easier than commuting from Round Rock into the city. It is very pretty down there and not overpopulated. It is on the Edwards Aquifer so they have to be careful of what they build and how they build it. House prices are around 280-500K. There are many new homes. We live North now and are planning on moving South of the city. Let me know if you have any additional questions. We are going house hunting today. There are also other homes off of Southwest Pkwy, Lantana, etc. which are very nice.
