Would anybody know a good/honest company who does home systems check/repairs? possibly somebody you had a direct experience with, and are willing to recommend.
I believe my system has lost some efficiency and like to have it checked.

I got a friend's advise for a company in RR, but I realize when I called they do not operate far from their area.Mine is in 78732.

Thank you in advance.

Many folks recommend independents; but, we've been very pleased with the service from ARS for our HVAC and plumbing needs. We get our HVAC checked twice a year on their 'program' and will receive discounts for any work needed while we're under that contract. We've had a couple of things done and I don't believe the prices were out of line.

Nor do we...one of the things I've appreciated about Austin is the wealth of independent 'crafts/trades people' in the area. We chose an indie locksmith, interior painter and appliance repair contractor. Went with the 'big boys' for water softener, HVAC, plumbing and bugs. Independent landscaper also when projects are beyond my scope(or energy).

If you have concerns that your system might be deteriorating, I'd call someone sooner rather than later. Some triple digits in the forecast... and ...then... there's... AUGUST !

I may be too late but I highly recommend Affordable Air Conditioning and Plumbing. They offer a free service call so you are under no obligation to use them plus I found them to be really competitive with pricing.

I've had really good experiences with Jason Krieg, Alamo Austin Air, 512-736-0145. I recall him saying he had several regular customers in N. Austin.

His prices are much better then ARS but he does not work weekends, so if you have an emergency, bette call ARS.

That's a really good deal, but it looks like there are only a few companies participating in this rebate program. Of the companies listed, we used McCullough earlier this year to replace a very old and very inefficient system including all new duct work in conjunction with the COA rebate program. I was really pleased with their professionalism and work.
