I am visiting Austin for the first time from Oct 31st through Nov 6th. What is the weather usually like at that time of the year? Any suggestions on types of clothes to pack for the weather around that time?

Thanks!

Let's see..bring shorts, swimsuit, sweatshirt, long pants, Tshirt and sweaters.

Did I totally confuse you ? Well Texas weather can be real iffy around then.
I can remember Halloween's where it's roastin hot and other's where we had sweaters on when taking the kids trick or treating. Layered clothing helps and you strip the layers off one by one as the day progresses and then layer them back on in the evening.

Nothing real cold though..maybe dipping into the 60's, 50's at night if a cool front should blow by.

From my ONE November experience I can say, generally warm, with occasional cold snaps, which will turn into warm weather in the afternoon.

This is fun to play with:

History : Weather Underground

Look at November 2 and November 10 of last year and you'll see what HappyTexan was talking about!

I was there, last year, 11/3-11/11. It was so nice and warm. I loved it. Went out at night with no sleeves. Sat out on the patio in the dark and just listened to nature. It was great. The day I had to come home, it was 90 degrees in Houston. Got back home to 52 degree weather and hated it. Enjoy your trip. Tell us about it when you get back.

I think, technically, November is the only month that Austin actually has an 'average snow' amount....there is more snow (historically) in Nov. than dec - feb. Strange.

Hmm....so much conflicting info . Anyway, here is some snow data from...univ of Utah? Why are they collecting Austin snow data? Sounds like a conspiracy . This matches my recollections better, but they say the mind is the first to go....

May 0
